Infection Prevention Specialist

We prioritize staff training and development to ensure that our employees have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high-quality care. Our Infection Prevention Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment, and is responsible for implementing and interpreting the Infection Prevention and Control Program.
The ideal candidate will have a current and unencumbered state license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse, and experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility is preferred. The Infection Prevention Specialist will be responsible for monitoring Public Health Advisories, serving as the on-site IPC for COVID-19 prevention and response activities, and maintaining a current knowledge of infection control trends and methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures
- Conduct surveillance and analysis of hospital-acquired infections
- Provide education and training to employees on infection control practices
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to infection prevention
- Stay up-to-date on the latest infection control guidelines and recommendations
Qualifications:
- Current and unencumbered state license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse
- Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (preferred)
- IP Certification (preferred but not required)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
