Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize mechanical and electrical skills to ensure the upkeep of production systems, utilities, buildings, and surrounding areas.
  • Supervise staff directly or through team leaders to guarantee effective hiring, training, development, disciplinary measures, and performance evaluations. In the context of a collective bargaining agreement, engage in negotiations, grievances, or other contract-related discussions.
  • Demonstrate expertise in HVAC, electrical systems, boilers, etc.
  • Oversee maintenance and capital projects for the facility.
  • Leverage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for effective asset management through scheduled preventive maintenance.
  • Implement corrective measures based on key maintenance performance metrics to improve overall equipment efficiency.
  • Stay updated on current industry regulations and standards related to mechanical and electrical systems design and operation.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and standards in both capital project execution and daily maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to company policies, OSHA regulations, and relevant laws.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or some college education is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in maintenance supervision within a food production setting.
  • Familiarity with food manufacturing machinery, including filling machines, blow mold machines, air compressors, and conveyors.
  • Experience with PLCs; programming skills are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems.
  • Understanding of fabrication, welding, and machining techniques.
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience with maintenance personnel.
  • Experience with CMMS.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP); experience with unions, safety, and workers' compensation.
  • Proven ability to lead and adhere to safety and security protocols.
  • Capable of following sanitation and quality policies and procedures, and reporting any deficiencies.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and other computer applications.
