Job Summary

The EHS Compliance Specialist will serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert for Environmental Health and Safety compliance and maturity at our site. This individual will research and understand applicable norms, permits, and standards, and integrate them into our work processes and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the deputy EHS Leader when the EHS Leader is absent.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert as a member of the EHS Team.
  • Participate as an EHS expert as a member of new equipment project teams, from design to operational stage.
  • Act as an influential leader in site safety and sustainability campaigns.
  • Interact with the authorities and insurance companies as site representative on technical EHS topics.
  • Maintain technical expertise in Machine guarding, Lock out Tag out, and other relevant technical Safety programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of the site Sustainability targets and projects to ensure their achievement and completion.
  • Core contributor to the ISO 14001 certification.
  • Participate as requested in EHS programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, Environment Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading EHS projects and teams, preferred.
  • Has or willing to work towards, an auditing certification.
