Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, including an estimated salary of $70,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. This package includes up to 176 hours of PTO, 72 hours of sick time, medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 403(b) plan with matching contribution, company-provided term life insurance, AD&D, and long-term disability insurance.

Job Description

">

The Family Care Advocate will work with organ donor families, hospital personnel, physicians, and other team members to facilitate the donation process. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, and conflict management abilities. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience in healthcare, counseling, or bereavement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine family dynamics and assess the family's understanding of the patient's prognosis to initiate the donation discussion.">
  • Initiate the donation discussion and authorization process for potential organ and tissue donor families.">
  • Communicate with attending physicians and healthcare teams to establish rapport and ensure a collaborative approach.">
  • Obtain authorization for donation and verify medical and legal documentation.">
  • Collaborate with hospital staff to provide accurate and timely information regarding the patient's clinical course.">

Required Skills and Qualifications

">

The successful candidate will possess excellent teamwork, communication, and conflict management skills. A valid driver's license with ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements is also necessary.

Working Conditions

">

The Family Care Advocate will work between 12 – 15 days per month and be on call for periods of up to 24 hours. This role requires flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the organization.
