Data Center Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician to join our team at PCR Staffing. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for managing all phases of data center installation projects, including installation, termination, and testing of various copper and fiber products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret test results from fiber and copper testers and troubleshoot and repair the fiber or copper cable plant to ensure a correct and valid test.
  • Manage all phases of data center installation projects, including installation, termination, and testing of various copper and fiber products.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • Provide excellent customer service and deliver projects according to customer expectations.
  • Stay current with the latest technologies and installation procedures.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of data center experience with cable and fiber.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • OSHA 10 general certification required within 1 week of start date.
  • Aerial Lift certification required within 1 week of start date.
  • Background and drug screen.
  • BICSI and industry certifications preferred.

Benefits:

This is a contract/contract-to-hire role with a starting rate range of $21-23 per hour W2, plus health coverage 50% and PTO options. The conversion salary is $45,000-$50,000.
