UPMC Hamot's Operating Room has opportunities available for Full-Time Surgical Technologists in our Night Program. Eligible participants must have 6 months of experience and work full-time night shifts.

As a Surgical Technologist, you will assist the surgical team in preparing the operating room, setting up surgical instruments and equipment, and ensuring aseptic technique. You will also be responsible for passing instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgeon assistants, and assisting in the preparation, care, and disposal of specimens taken for laboratory analysis.

We offer a generous sign-on bonus for full-time Surgical Technologists, with amounts ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 depending on years of experience.

**Responsibilities:**

* Ensure all medications are labeled and handed to surgeon according to established policies and procedures.
* Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions.
* Assemble both sterile and non-sterile equipment.
* Adjust and check equipment to ensure it is working properly.
* Pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgeon assistants.
* Assist in the preparation, care, and disposal of specimens taken for laboratory analysis.
* Assist the surgical team with putting on sterile gowns and gloves.
* Clean and restock the operating room.
* Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and ensuring aseptic incision sites.

**Requirements:**

* Completion of a formal surgical technician program offered by a community or junior college, vocational school, university, hospital, or the military.
* 6 months of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
* Ability to work full-time night shifts.
