About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality care to patients in a psychiatric setting.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct patient care and participating in therapeutic milieu. This includes establishing therapeutic relationships with patients, maintaining professional boundaries, and identifying patient behaviors that contribute to the development of a crisis.

You will also assist the Registered Nurse in providing direct patient care, complete patient care assignments, and participate in patient rounds or teams. Additionally, you will communicate changes in patient status to the RN, follow Standards of Care and protocols for assigned patients, and remain awake and alert at all times while on the job.

In this role, you will work effectively in the therapeutic milieu, participate in planning and implementation of patient groups, and provide and supervise recreation and other off-hall activities according to needs.

You will also assist patients in their activities of daily living, identify patient hygiene needs, initiate and implement interventions to meet these needs, and provide for patients' nutritional needs according to unit procedure.

As a Mental Health Specialist, you will maintain a commitment to professional growth and competency, complete mandatory in-service requirements, and identify areas of strengths and areas in need of professional development with your supervisor.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $83,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, employee assistance programs, and more.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a High School diploma or GED and prefer two years of college plus one year of clinical experience, preferably in a psychiatric setting. You must also have verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work in collaboration with others.
