Position Overview

AECOM is looking for a Traffic Engineering Trainee to join our team.

This internship will provide valuable exposure to various aspects of traffic engineering. The role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Performing traffic engineering calculations and designs under the guidance of a seasoned traffic engineer.
  • Developing sketches, diagrams, and detailed drawings for traffic engineering projects with supervision.
  • Gathering and analyzing data under the mentorship of an experienced engineer.
  • Utilizing software tools to address fundamental engineering challenges.
  • Engaging with design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, SignCAD, Synchro, CENTRACS, and other relevant applications.
  • Employing microsimulation software like VISSIM and Synchro or TransModeler to create traffic models and simulations.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Completion of at least two years of relevant academic study.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft 360 Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
