We're seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Mechanic Specialist to join our team at Performance Foodservice. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced mechanic to work on medium to heavy-duty trucks and related equipment, ensuring safety and compliance in our fleet maintenance operations.

As a Diesel Fleet Mechanic Specialist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic checks and repairs on our diesel fleet vehicles while providing guidance to other mechanics. Your expertise in engine overhauls, brake systems, and preventive maintenance will be invaluable in keeping our equipment in top condition.

This role offers a competitive salary of up to $29.36 per hour, plus shift differential for overnight hours. You'll also enjoy benefits such as Day 1 health and wellness benefits, free uniforms, boot allowance, and meals provided.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 5-7 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including PMs, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and refrigeration &/or overhauls and rebuilds of heavy-duty diesel engines and transmissions.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Completing overhauls and rebuilds of heavy-duty diesel engines and transmission.
  • Performing preventative maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections/repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units).
  • Ensuring equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed 'roadworthy.'
  • Completing thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through our online Enterprise Asset Management system.
  • Installing, replacing, and repairing onboard computers.
  • Training/providing guidance to other Mechanics.
