Job Title: Director of Student Financial Services

At the University of the Potomac, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Student Financial Services to lead our Financial Aid Office. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of federal, state, and institutional regulations, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead a team of professional and student staff to provide excellent service and accurate processing of financial aid and billing services.
  • Develop and implement awarding and packaging policies to support enrollment goals and maximize the utilization of funds.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and university regulations, including monitoring students' eligibility for financial aid funds and attending training conferences.
  • Prepare annual FISAP Report for the U.S. Department of Education and review origination and disbursement records of Federal Pell Grants.
  • Collaborate with various university departments to ensure seamless delivery of financial aid services.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of managerial experience in higher education financial aid/student accounts or five years of financial aid/student accounts experience with progressive levels of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to the delivery of financial aid funds for higher education.
  • Experience with technological resources, including Department of Education software programs and Student Information Systems.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
