Job Description

AWH Logistics is seeking an experienced Transportation Operations Manager to oversee the logistics of our company's transportation-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transportation Operations: Directing activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of transportation vehicles, aircraft, or railroad cars.
  • Staff Management: Planning, organizing, and managing subordinate staff members to ensure work is completed and consistent with the company's standards.
  • Customer Service: Directing investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints.
  • Procedure Development: Collaborating with staff members to formulate and implement transportation-related procedures as well as company revenue goals and customer service objectives.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Arranging repairs and routine maintenance of transportation vehicles.
  • Driver Management: Recruiting, Onboarding, Training, Termination of drivers to maintain staff levels.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Complying with transportation-related policies, as well as safety rules, contracts, and government regulations.
  • Safety Management: Promoting safe work activities by conducting safety audits, and attending company safety meetings.
  • ELD Management: Managing ELD's and logs.
  • Payroll Reporting: Payroll reporting.
Requirements:
  • Experience: At least 2 years experience managing drivers and fleet.
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid knowledge of the transportation industry and logistics.
  • Contractor Experience: Experience working with independent contractors.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of DOT & FMCSA Regulations.
  • Critical Thinking: Critical thinking skills and knowledge of analytics.
  • KPI Management: Ability to manage KPI's and metrics.
  • Geotab and Lytx Experience: Experience working with Geotab and Lytx cameras is preferred, but not required.
  • License: Class A License ++++ but not required, or For-Hire license preferred with DOT Medical card.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to work well with team members and navigate stressful situations.
  • Conflict Resolution: Excellent leadership skills.
  • Conflict Resolution: Good conflict resolution skills.
  • Pre-Employment Screening: MUST be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday night operations. On-site work hours.
