Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation, execution, and assessment of information system security policies across various platforms.
  • Formulate and supervise operational policies and guidelines for information systems security, focusing on the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG) authorization process.
  • Conduct risk evaluations and provide recommendations to Department of Defense (DoD) agency clients.
  • Ensure that all Information Assurance Officers (IAOs), network administrators, and cybersecurity personnel receive the essential technical and security training necessary for their roles.
  • Develop, review, and endorse system assessment documentation for action by the Authorizing Official (AO) or Designated Authorizing Official (DAO).
  • Create and implement security assessment strategies that verify the required features and assurances for each protection level.
  • Establish policies and procedures for addressing security incidents, including the investigation and reporting of security breaches.
  • Assess threats and vulnerabilities to determine if additional protective measures are warranted.
  • Collaborate with security officials on the approval of external information systems.
  • Ensure configuration management for security-related changes to software, hardware, and firmware, ensuring proper documentation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Previous roles as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) or Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience (4 years).
  • CISSP certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Master's Degree in Cybersecurity.
  • DoD 8140 Advanced Cybersecurity qualifications.
  • Experience and certifications in Splunk.

Security Clearance:

  • Current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • Willingness to undergo a random Counterintelligence polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
  • Occasional movement within the office to access files and equipment.
  • Frequent positioning to maintain computers in various locations.
  • Regular communication with colleagues and clients, which may involve presentations.
  • Must be able to convey accurate information in these situations.
