Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter-Paramedic to join our team at the City of Roanoke Fire-EMS Department. As a Firefighter-Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical services and fire suppression in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care and transportation to patients
  • Operate fire apparatus and equipment, including engines, trucks, and ambulances
  • Participate in fire suppression and rescue operations
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of equipment and vehicles
  • Assist with training and education of other personnel
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred
  • Certification as a Firefighter-Paramedic required; EMT certification preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and patients
