Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter Paramedic to join our team at the City of Roanoke. As a Firefighter Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing fire suppression and emergency medical services to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide fire suppression and emergency medical services
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles in a clean and working order
  • Assist in maintaining equipment inventory on emergency vehicles
  • Provide patient care and administer basic and advanced life support techniques and treatment
  • Drive and operate fire and EMS apparatus on non-emergency and emergency incidents
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Associate degree with courses in fire science, emergency health sciences, or related field
  • Five to ten years related experience and/or training in fire suppression, prevention, and/or emergency medical service
  • Possession of a valid appropriate drivers license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD
