Position Overview

The MEMS Process Development Engineer will work in close collaboration with ASIC and sensor design teams to facilitate product advancement. This role is responsible for overseeing various MEMS-specific process development activities, contributing significantly to the wafer processing of sensor prototypes. Reporting to the Sensor Development Department, this engineer is essential in the initial phases of sensor innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct semiconductor/MEMS wafer processing tasks.
  • Develop innovative silicon fabrication techniques necessary for optimal sensor performance.
  • Create a detailed process flow for producing functional sensor devices and assess their effectiveness.
  • Collaborate in various academic and research lab environments to finalize sensor fabrication.
  • Partner with sensor design engineers to identify and resolve product challenges.
  • Support clients with engineering samples and technical inquiries.
  • Coordinate with module design, production, and quality assurance teams to transition products to mass production.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Electrical, Material, or Chemical Engineering (PhD preferred) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in MEMS process development.
  • Proficient in MEMS wafer processing techniques, including multiple wafer bonding, Deep Reactive Ion Etching (DRIE), Vapor HF, and double-sided wafer processing.
  • Hands-on experience in silicon wafer processing within academic or laboratory environments.
  • Previous experience collaborating with external service providers for MEMS processing.
  • Familiarity with data analysis software such as JMP, Minitab, or Matlab.
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently.
  • Strong communication skills, negotiation capabilities, and commitment to follow-through.
Preferred Skills:
  • Solid background in MEMS/Semiconductor wafer processing.
  • Experience in MEMS sensor development is a plus.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor packaging is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in mask layout using L-Edit or similar tools is beneficial.
  • Understanding of SPC, DOE, FMEA, and Six Sigma methodologies is a positive attribute.
