Director of Grants Management Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Grants Management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in federal grants and contracts, with a proven track record of ensuring compliance and strategic alignment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of grants and contracts management, ensuring seamless integration with our organization's strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement best practices for grants and contracts management, including process improvements and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective grant and contract management, including finance, program management, and research administration.
  • Provide strategic guidance to principal investigators and research teams on grant and contract opportunities, as well as post-award management.
  • Lead indirect cost rate submissions and negotiations, ensuring compliance with government regulations.
  • Manage procurement classifications and financial reporting, providing accurate data on budgets, spending projections, and personnel resources.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, staying informed of potential grant funding opportunities.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of legal, compliance, and transparency requirements associated with federal grants and contracts.
  • Ability to multitask and re-evaluate priorities with a sense of urgency.
  • Familiarity with financial management software and systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of government grant and contract processes, including federal agency regulations.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or CPA/CFA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Grant Management, with additional consideration for experience in Operations, Program Management, Finance, or Compliance in Research Administration.
