Position Overview

The Physician Assistant (Specialty) plays a crucial role in delivering and coordinating specialized healthcare services in various fields, including cardiology, oncology, pediatrics, obstetrics, and gynecology. This position may involve working across diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals, medical offices, and outpatient clinics. The Physician Assistant is responsible for patient care and serves as a vital link between physicians and patients' families, ensuring effective communication and understanding of treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engages in comprehensive patient care as required. Conducts thorough examinations to gather essential information regarding patients' health status. Collects, organizes, and documents medical histories and findings from physical assessments.
  • Formulates preliminary diagnoses and makes informed decisions regarding patient management and treatment strategies.
  • Assists physicians during patient rounds, meticulously documenting patient conditions and progress.
  • Evaluates medication plans and addresses requests for medication refills.
  • Orders or administers necessary diagnostic evaluations.
  • Performs additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications

Completion of an accredited educational program for physician assistants or surgical assistants recognized by the American Medical Association's Committee on Allied Health Education, along with successful passage of the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination administered by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Possession of a valid license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Kentucky. Credentials and professional history must be suitable for malpractice coverage in Kentucky. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills within the Physician Assistant profession.

Active participation in educational initiatives to enhance clinical expertise and experience.

Adherence to licensure and educational standards for Physician Assistants.

Awareness of personal knowledge and experience limitations, with a proactive approach to seeking collaboration or referrals to other healthcare professionals when necessary.

Familiarity with the legal statutes and regulations governing Physician Assistant practice, ensuring compliance within those boundaries.

A minimum of one year of experience as a Physician Assistant is preferred.


Compensation
$71.38 per hour.
