Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Phlebotomist II to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a Phlebotomist II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of blood samples collected from patients. Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients using a variety of techniques, including venipuncture and capillary collections.
  • Administer oral solutions and perform other related tasks as required.
  • Verify patient demographic information and initials to ensure accurate labeling of specimens.
  • Enter patient registration and test orders into our laboratory information system.
  • Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, and freezing, as required by test order.
  • Perform departmental-related clerical duties, such as data entry and inventory management.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Lift light to moderately heavy objects.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand frequently to constantly throughout the day.
