The Immunology Center of Georgia (IMMCG) is a pioneering initiative by the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, aimed at harnessing the immune system's potential to combat diseases.

IMMCG is dedicated to assembling teams of biomedical researchers with a proven track record in scientific innovation and technological advancement.

Co-directed by renowned immunologists, the center focuses on producing innovative treatments for diseases that significantly affect communities in Georgia and beyond.

IMMCG is actively seeking faculty and staff to spearhead projects targeting cardiovascular diseases, obesity, autoimmune disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer.

Job Summary

This role entails administrative oversight of all research personnel and support staff, ensuring excellence in research delivery. Responsibilities include managing and fostering professional relationships with research teams, supervising and training staff, and collaborating with financial managers to maintain budgetary balance.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
Managerial Duties
- Oversee postdoctoral researchers and technicians involved in single-cell RNA sequencing.
- Collaborate with sequencing facilities.
- Facilitate employee development and training.
- Conduct interviews and schedule experiments.
- Attend technical meetings with relevant companies.
- Organize procurement of supplies for sequencing projects.
- Manage inventory and ensure timely usage of lab materials.
- Maintain comprehensive records of samples and reagents.
- Perform cost analyses for sequencing experiments.
- Optimize resource utilization.
- Ensure effective communication within the lab team.
Lab Duties
- Isolate and process PBMCs from human blood samples.
- Organize and execute cell sorting procedures.
- Conduct pre-sequencing quality control measures.
- Prepare necessary libraries for sequencing.
- Analyze sequencing data as required.
Other Duties
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. from an accredited institution with at least one year of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with a minimum of five years in grant management and quality assurance; or significant coursework towards a Ph.D. with two years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor's degree with eight years of progressive experience in similar roles.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift:
Days; Monday - Friday (may require work outside standard hours)

Pay Band:
B12

Salary Minimum:
$62,300 annually, commensurate with qualifications.

Recruitment Period:

Additionally, employees may qualify for the Tuition Assistance Program after six months of successful employment.
