Position Overview: The Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) plays a vital role in delivering healthcare services to patients, collaborating closely with supervising physicians. Responsibilities encompass comprehensive medical evaluations, treatment planning, counseling, and patient referrals. This role includes diagnostic assessments, therapeutic interventions, surgical support, and medication management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a patient advocate, actively participating in initiatives aimed at improving patient satisfaction and quality of care.
  • Work under the supervision of the Director of Bariatric Medicine, providing care for patients involved in pre-surgical and non-surgical weight management programs.
  • Conduct screenings and diagnoses for patients at risk of weight-related health issues, developing and implementing tailored treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on nutrition, behavioral changes, exercise, and other lifestyle modifications to support their health and weight loss objectives.
  • Understand and communicate the various treatment options available for weight management, including surgical and non-surgical approaches.
  • Deliver care in a compassionate and evidence-based manner, ensuring thorough assessments of all assigned patients.
Essential Duties:
  • Demonstrate proficiency in patient assessment, treatment, counseling, and education for patients and their families.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and physical examinations, including the collection and analysis of medical histories.
  • Administer and interpret diagnostic tests, identifying abnormal conditions and formulating management plans.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and meet healthcare needs.
  • Provide high-quality healthcare based on best practices and evidence-based medicine.
  • Engage in virtual care services as needed, conducting clinical assessments and treatment via telehealth platforms.
  • Maintain professional development through continuous education and participation in professional organizations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical management guidelines and participate in educational initiatives for multidisciplinary students.
  • Utilize electronic medical records efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation for optimal billing and compliance.
  • Promote wellness and preventive care, educating patients on health maintenance and lifestyle choices.
Work Schedule:

Standard office hours, Monday through Friday, with no on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Must be a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a valid license to practice in the relevant state. Physician Assistants should hold current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, with occasional lifting and carrying of weights up to 75 pounds. Must possess adequate sensory capabilities for effective communication and patient care.
