Patient Flow Optimization Manager

The Patient Flow Optimization Manager is responsible for improving hospital throughput, increasing inpatient bed utilization, and reducing patient or bed turnaround delays. This role serves as the primary hospital throughput contact for inpatient beds, utilizing Medhost technology, rounding, Cerner, and communication with staff to maintain an understanding of house-wide bed supply and demand.
Main Responsibilities:- Work with admission portals (e.g., Emergency Department, Overhouse Supervisor, Admissions) and inpatient floors to plan for daily scheduled and unscheduled bed demand.
- Maintain communication with admission portals regarding bed availability and status.
- Review new admissions to assign the most appropriate and available inpatient bed.
- Makes timely decisions regarding patient placement.
- Rounds to the inpatient floors to assess and resolve throughput issues.
- Current active Georgia LPN/RN License required. BLS required.
- 3-5 years of clinical experience, throughput or Overhouse Supervisor experience preferred.
- Nursing skills as defined in the Law Governing the Practice of Nursing in Georgia.
- Critical thinking and independent problem solving requiring a high degree of creativity and decision making.
- Effective interpersonal and management skills.
- Strong understanding of hospital systems, processes, and flow.
$65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
This salary range is based on national averages and may vary depending on location, industry, and other factors.
