This search is confidential and targets a senior leadership role with a potential trajectory towards the presidency. The position involves direct collaboration with ownership to oversee and manage retail and lumber mill operations across multiple regional sites. Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the profitable financial performance of designated operations, including the development of robust operating budgets for 2-3 retail and lumber building materials locations.
- In partnership with ownership, identify both long-term and short-term opportunities for capital development and enhancements, overseeing the acquisition, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
- Work collaboratively with managers to ensure the adoption of best practices that improve overall efficiency and productivity.
- Provide leadership and training to achieve organizational goals, objectives, and KPIs.
- Initiate, assess, and follow up on potential value-added activities, process improvements, and efficient use of raw materials that benefit the business.
- Frequent travel to remote locations via company aircraft.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in the wood products or lumber sector.
- At least 5 years of successful management experience with a focus on team engagement, collaboration, and the development of strong partnerships.
- Experience in financial management, including budgeting, analysis, and forecasting.
- Operational leadership experience with a proven track record in developing effective operating strategies and monitoring systems.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate a culture of data-driven, continuous improvement, and innovative process design throughout the organization.
Compensation: $150,000-$180,000 annually, with an additional 15-25% bonus incentive.
