About the Role
As a Cook at Allina Health, you will be responsible for preparing food using standardized recipes and proper cooking methods. You will ensure that all food is prepared in a timely, appealing, and appetizing manner, and that adequate quantities of food are prepared based on patient need and cafeteria volumes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare food in a safe and sanitary environment, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Use proper cooking, cooling, and reheating techniques to ensure food safety.
- Label, date, cover, and store food properly to prevent spoilage and contamination.
- Assist with menu development and maintain adequate food stock to meet the menu requirements and patient requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or equivalent, and 0-2 years of experience in food service. An Associate's or Vocational degree in the culinary field is preferred. You must also have valid driver's license and certification in Food Safety and Handling.
Physical Demands
This position requires medium work, which involves lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 25 lbs frequently. If you are physically able and enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, we encourage you to apply.
