About Urban, Ltd.: We are a comprehensive civil engineering firm that offers a wide range of services including transportation engineering, land planning, landscape architecture, and surveying for both private and public sector clients in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
  • EIT certification is advantageous, though not mandatory
  • Proven experience in designing and processing land development applications
  • Familiarity with land development processes in Northern Virginia is a plus
  • Ability to make informed design decisions based on civil engineering principles and local regulations
  • Contributes to the development of comprehensive construction plans
  • Ensures the quality and accuracy of all engineering work
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing CAD drawings and specifications for site and subdivision projects
  • Designing site layouts and utility systems
  • Executing horizontal and vertical roadway designs
  • Preparing erosion and sediment control strategies
  • Conducting hydrologic computations for stormwater management facilities
  • Performing pavement design calculations
  • Carrying out site distance evaluations
  • Preparing quantity take-offs for site work
  • Collaborating with internal and external professionals including engineers and architects
