Job Overview

As the initial point of contact for our patients, we seek reliable and dedicated individuals to ensure the front office operates efficiently. A positive, energetic, and collaborative attitude focused on outstanding customer service is essential in this position. While we can provide training for the right candidate, a sincere and positive demeanor towards our patients is a fundamental requirement. The ideal applicant will be devoted to delivering an exceptional experience for both our patients and referring physician offices.

Compensation:

$17 - $19 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome, register, and assist patients, directing them as necessary
  • Arrange appointments and collect copayments, deductibles, and coinsurance from new or returning patients in compliance with payer guidelines
  • Handle and direct phone inquiries professionally; provide information when possible and tailor call interactions to the patient
  • Communicate courteously and effectively with all team members regarding patient portal or phone inquiries
  • Accurately document communications in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Ensure patient insurance details are current and accurately entered in the EHR
  • Check patients in and out of the facility and initiate any required forms or documentation on an iPad
  • Schedule new and existing patients and assist in rescheduling appointments to better accommodate patient or clinician needs
  • Perform additional tasks and related duties as required
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a hospital or outpatient clinical setting
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Understanding of patient medical insurance policies and procedures
  • Experience in family practice, orthopedics, pain management, or surgical scheduling is preferred
  • Experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred
  • Proficiency with EHR systems is required
