Patient Services Coordinator

As a Patient Services Representative at The START Center for Cancer Care, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate patient check-in, verify insurance coverage, and facilitate financial assistance in the collection of patient accounts receivable.
Key Responsibilities
• Verify new patient insurance coverage and demographics, ensuring proper referral is in place for scheduled visits or treatments.
• Collect and enter patient information into appropriate systems, including EMR and Centricity.
• Identify and refer under-insured and/or uninsured patients to the treating physician for approval.
• Collect patients' co-payments, co-insurance, and other patient balances.
• Prepare daily clinic schedules and enter all scheduled patients and add-ons.
Requirements
• High school degree or equivalent with a minimum of two years' experience in insurance verification, referrals, medical collections, billing, and customer service.
• Excellent customer service skills, oral and written communication skills, and good organizational skills are required.
• Proficiency in medical billing software and ability to balance and close cash drawers are essential.
