We are seeking a skilled Estimator I to join our team at IEA Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives. As an Estimator I, you will be responsible for gathering, calculating, and compiling data for use in estimates and preparing routine estimates under general supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare accurate quantity surveys and estimates for assigned projects
- Complete assignments within agreed-upon time frames
- Solicit subcontractor and/or supplier quotations or scheduling input as required
- Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for management purposes
- Participate in plan review and estimate reviews for respective projects
- Assist in compiling historical cost data for projects
- Confirm lists of subcontractors/suppliers proposing on the project
- Collaborate with Architects/Engineers to request clarifications or additional information
- Attend project meetings and perform site investigations as assigned
- Become familiar with all estimating software
- Provide estimating leadership for small-sized projects
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficient in Estimating Software
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and document project activities
- Effective presentation skills
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts
