Bridge Design and Engineering Opportunities

Michael Baker International is seeking a highly motivated Civil Associate I - Bridge to support our growing bridge practice within Indiana in our Indianapolis, IN office.

About the Role

Under the guidance of experienced Engineers, Technical Managers, and Project Managers, the ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work on conventional and complex bridge and structure designs, load ratings, and bridge inspections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with structure tasks on conventional and complex multi-discipline projects from design through construction
  • Assist with structural load ratings on conventional and complex bridges using hand calculations through finite element methods
  • Assist with the preparation to perform, and check bridge and structure designs to ensure accuracy with design codes and client requirements
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate with other disciplines effectively
  • Assist with quantities and project cost estimates
  • Coordinates with design technicians to ensure timely and accurate deliverables
  • Assist with document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits
  • Assist with preparation for client and project meetings

Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering from ABET Accredited University
  • Masters of Science in Structural Engineering a plus
  • 0-2 years of related experience
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred
  • Familiarity with various CAD and Microsoft Office programs with the potential ability to produce high quality design documents, exhibits, computations, and reports
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to efficiently work independently within a multi-disciplinary team and prioritize project assignments to meet competing deadlines

Compensation

The approximate compensation range for this position is $57,569 to $83,115. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
