About the Opportunity:

The successful Dining Service Associate will join the Spirit of Washington team, demonstrating proficiency in serving food and beverages while ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests and colleagues. Responsibilities include maintaining safety standards and possessing knowledge about the vessel and its surroundings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding hospitality to guests and team members as outlined in our RESPECT service system.
  • Welcome guests and serve food and beverages promptly.
  • Accurately take and process orders using the point of sale system.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety in all common areas and service stations.
  • Engage in the guest celebration and entertainment experience.
  • Set up and dismantle dining areas and service stations as required, which involves moving dining furniture.
  • Process payments from guests for on-board purchases accurately.
  • Provide guests with information regarding menu items, service order, entertainment options, cruise routes, and points of interest.
  • Be punctual and ready to start work at the scheduled time.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to grooming standards.
  • Assist with the warm and efficient greeting and seating of guests upon arrival.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One (1) year of experience in a high-volume dining environment is preferred.
  • A vibrant and enthusiastic personality is essential.
  • Ability to effectively communicate written and verbal information to guests and team members.
  • A strong service orientation with a proactive approach to assisting others.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift furniture and other heavy items, including dishes, up and down stairs.
  • Availability to work on major holidays is required.
  • Must meet minimum state age requirements.
