About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Satellite Ground Systems Team at Raytheon. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our satellite systems by planning and scheduling tasks, designing, developing, and testing Java code in a Linux, Agile, DevOps environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and schedule tasks to ensure efficient project delivery and meet deadlines.
  • Design, develop, and test Java-based applications and software components for satellite ground systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Work with previously written code and make modifications as necessary to ensure software meets evolving requirements.
  • Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and system integration activities to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Contribute to the completion of program and project milestones under the guidance of your immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience working with planning and scheduling of satellites using ground systems.
  • Experience in systems engineering related to Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and architecture.
  • Agile software development experience using Java in both Windows and Linux.
  • An active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Nine (9) years experience within the GPS OCX enterprise.
  • Cyber Security experience.
  • Experience with software automated test tools such as Eggplant (or equivalent).
  • Software architecture and algorithm development experience.
  • Experience working external interface development and integration efforts, algorithm design, display designs, and working both front end and back end software products.
