Vascular Sonographer Specialist

About the Role
As a Vascular Sonographer, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care by performing vascular lab exams and utilizing vascular lab physiological and ultrasound equipment. You will work under the direction of the vascular lab manager and medical director, assisting with clinical rotations in both in-patient and out-patient settings as the schedule dictates, and participating in after-hours and on-call services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a range of peripheral vascular studies, including duplex imaging, Doppler, and plethysmography of upper and lower extremity vasculature, abdominal viscera, carotid vasculature, and intracranial vessels, using independent judgment to accurately differentiate between normal and abnormal findings.
- Review images and paperwork to ensure quality exams are complete, thorough, and prepared for review by reading physicians, adhering to IAC-approved scanning protocols and utilizing Smart Protocols when possible.
- Operate all vascular lab testing equipment and software packages, including ultrasound and physiological equipment, EMR, Structured Reporting, and PACS, while maintaining up-to-date maintenance logs and reporting any equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Participate in staff and departmental meetings, educational conferences, and discussions, staying abreast of changes in the field and contributing to the collection of data, images, and articles as necessary.
Requirements
- Associate's degree from a formal/Director-approved radiology or sonography program.
- One year of vascular sonography experience performing non-invasive vascular lab studies, or completion of a Director-approved Radiology or sonography program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of vascular anatomy and hemodynamics.
- Medical Terminology.
