Job Overview

Position: Automotive Technician/Mechanic

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The role is pivotal in ensuring operational efficiency by inspecting and servicing ambulances, shuttles, wheelchair vans, and other vehicles utilized by North East Mobile Health Services, along with those of external clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Conducts routine maintenance services including oil changes and repairs or replacements of engine components and transmissions.

· Diagnoses and repairs brake systems, axles, driveline, steering, and suspension components.

· Performs diagnostics and repairs on electronic control systems and air conditioning units.

· Manages tire services including replacement, rotation, balancing, and troubleshooting tire wear issues.

· Completes repair orders with detailed information and accurately charges for parts utilized.

· Adheres to state inspection regulations.

· Follows all safety protocols established by the company.

· Works under the guidance of the Fleet Manager and collaborates effectively within a team.

REQUIREMENTS

· High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

· CFC-608 Refrigeration Certification is necessary.

· State Inspection certification is required.

· A valid driving license is mandatory.

· A minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Flexibility: Technicians often work in confined spaces, requiring bending, turning, and squatting.

Motor Skills: Excellent manual dexterity is needed to handle small components and fasteners.

Vision: Normal color vision is essential for reading diagrams and working with color-coded wiring.

Cognitive Abilities:

Hearing: Ability to hear normal sounds and communicate effectively in a moderately noisy environment.

Concentration: Must maintain focus on detailed tasks with frequent interruptions.

Attention Span: Ability to attend to tasks for extended periods.

Memory: Must remember verbal and written instructions frequently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

· Work is primarily conducted indoors in a garage setting with some outdoor exposure.

· Moderate dust exposure may occur in storage areas.

· The noise level is typically moderate to high.
