Job Title: Residential Counselor

About the Role:

Newport Mental Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Counselor to join our team. As a Residential Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and recovery of individuals residing in our residential group home in Middletown.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily support and guidance to residents, promoting their independence and self-advocacy.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
  • Facilitate community connections and activities to enhance social networks and community integration.
  • Work with residents to develop and achieve their recovery goals, as outlined in their individualized recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with families and support networks to ensure a comprehensive approach to care.
  • Conduct regular resident groups, focusing on health promotion and skill development in various life domains.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Caring and empathetic approach, with a passion for supporting individuals in need.
  • Self-motivated and independent, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • 1+ years of experience in the human services field, preferably in a residential setting.
