Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Counselor to join our team at Child & Family. As a Residential Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to our residents, helping them to develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to residents, focusing on their physical, emotional, and behavioral well-being.
  • Cultivate a trauma-informed environment, understanding the impact of trauma and neglect on our residents and their families.
  • Collaborate with the therapeutic staff team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Supervise and engage residents in daily activities, including recreational and life skill development.
  • Implement behavior management practices, utilizing trauma-sensitive techniques to promote positive outcomes.
  • Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques, ensuring the safety of residents and staff.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 6 months' experience working with children and/or adolescents, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and time-management skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Collaboration and teamwork essential.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Physical Requirements

This role requires sitting, standing, walking, driving, carrying, and lifting up to 25lbs. Regular use of desktop, laptop, and/or cell phone, and communication with colleagues is also required.

Travel Requirements

Statewide travel is required for this position.
