Job Summary:
A clinical care specialist at American Family Care North Austin provides general medical care to patients under the direction of a licensed provider in an outpatient clinic setting. The role involves working directly with a franchised business location, where specific job duties and benefits can vary between franchises.

Responsibilities:
  • Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, preparing the patient for a physical exam
  • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
  • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved procedure
  • Draw blood and prepare labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing
  • Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
  • Respond to all lab messages and call back requests
  • Perform drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
  • Document patient immunizations and administer them in accordance with approved procedure
  • Conduct physician referrals and service pre-certifications as needed
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation

Qualifications:
An associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. AMT registration and AAMA certification are preferred.

Estimated Salary Range:$45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on location and experience.
