Job Overview

Position Title: Caregiver

Reports To: Care Supervisor

Qualifications & Requirements:

1. Minimum age of 18 years

2. Proficient in English communication, both verbal and written

3. Capable of understanding and executing both written and verbal instructions

4. Competent in recording messages and maintaining simple records

5. Preferred: Two years of full-time experience with elderly or disabled individuals

6. Training and experience in basic nursing practices; CNA certification preferred

7. Current certifications in CPR and First Aid

8. Ability to accept constructive feedback and work under supervision

9. Willingness to perform various routine tasks, even in challenging conditions, while maintaining professionalism

10. Eagerness to learn and develop skills in basic nursing tasks

11. Agreement to undergo random drug testing as required

12. Maintain a clean and professional appearance

13. Genuine compassion and interest in working with senior or geriatric individuals

14. Ability to interact courteously with residents and staff

15. Organized approach to daily resident care

16. Good physical health with no restrictions

17. Stable mental health and emotional maturity

18. Awareness of infection control practices relevant to nursing

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure a comfortable living environment for residents by focusing on cleanliness, ventilation, lighting, and furniture arrangement

2. Assist residents with personal hygiene tasks including bathing, grooming, and oral care

3. Monitor and maintain cleanliness for residents who require assistance

4. Keep residents' living spaces tidy and organized

5. Support light housekeeping duties as necessary

6. Uphold the dignity and self-respect of all residents

7. Maintain confidentiality regarding residents and care activities

8. Observe residents' conditions and report any changes to the Care Supervisor

9. Follow infection control protocols

10. Ensure medical supplies and equipment are kept clean and ready for use

11. Apply first aid measures when appropriate

12. Respond promptly to call signals

13. Facilitate residents' participation in recreational and social activities as directed

14. Recognize and respect the individual emotional, social, and cultural needs of residents

15. Attend orientation and in-service training sessions

16. Document specific assignments and maintain accurate records about residents

17. Assist residents with nourishment as needed

18. Monitor and document food and liquid intake

19. Assist with bed-making and linen changes

20. Remove soiled linens from care areas

21. Observe residents taking self-administered medications as necessary

22. Provide physical assistance to residents as needed

23. Closely monitor residents who may be confused or agitated

24. Assist with personal laundry services as required

25. Aid residents with dressing and personal care

26. Support all activities of daily living

27. Report maintenance needs promptly

28. Perform additional duties as assigned.
