Position Title: Technical Training Instructor
Company: General Dynamics
Role Overview:
This instructor role is focused on delivering comprehensive training for Gulfstream GVII G500 and GVII G600 Maintenance courses. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience as a maintenance technician on these aircraft, although experience with G450, G550, and GVI-G650 will also be considered. A background in Avionics Systems is preferred but not mandatory.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- An Associate's Degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential job functions.
- Two to four years of experience in the aviation industry is necessary.
- One year of training experience is preferred.
Purpose of the Position:
Under general supervision, this role involves researching, assisting in the development, organizing, and delivering training curricula. The instructor will act as an internal consultant on training matters within their areas of expertise and support training initiatives at various facilities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Deliver classroom and practical training as required across various facilities, including certification training for engine/APU qualifications, Aircraft Recurrent/Refresher Training, Familiarization Training, and System Line Maintenance Training.
- Identify, research, and verify the technical accuracy of information necessary for training course development, monitoring all relevant information sources for updates.
- Prepare and contribute to the creation of training materials (course outlines, lesson plans, handouts, presentations, CBTs) to meet training objectives while adhering to established standards.
- Maintain technical expertise on existing Gulfstream products and acquire knowledge on new product designs from available resources.
- Obtain and maintain qualifications to instruct in at least two subject areas and any associated simulator requirements.
- Schedule Aircraft Equipment resources as necessary for practical training.
- Update training records in accordance with company standards.
- Prepare and coordinate technical data and training information for off-site training sessions.
- Foster a spirit of teamwork and collaboration.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe training environment.
- Travel as necessary to conduct training.
Other Requirements:
- A&P, FCC, or Pilot license is preferred.
- Instructor development training is required.
- Proficient in PowerPoint, MS Word, and Lotus Notes.
- Ability to utilize media equipment effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- Strong verbal, written, and teaching skills are essential.
