Electrical Test Technician 2 Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Test Technician 2 to join our team at M.C. Dean, Inc. in Quincy, WA. As an Electrical Test Technician 2, you will be responsible for leading and performing inspection, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and start-up of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform acceptance and maintenance testing on electrical power distribution systems and equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protective relays.
  • Conduct insulation resistance testing, power factor testing, contact resistance testing, and other tests in accordance with NETA standards.
  • Analyze test results to determine the condition of equipment and recommend corrective actions if needed.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems, including experience with transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protective relays.
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment such as insulation resistance testers, power factor meters, contact resistance testers, and relay test sets.
  • Knowledge of NETA standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Coordinate, lead, and support multiple projects both onsite and in-house utilizing various company software systems, review and maintain job documentation, ensuring completeness of information from receipt of order to invoice.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years experience with a High School Diploma/GED
  • Electronics Installation and/or Maintenance on Multiple Systems
  • Using trade drawings e.g.: architectural, electrical, mechanical and civil to identify potential design and installation problems
  • Knowledge of industry standards including sections of NETA ATS/MTS, NEC, NFPA 70E, etc.
  • One or More of the following Preferred:
  • OEM certified field service training program
  • Certifications (desired/advantageous): NETA level III, or IV preferred
