About the Role

At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of space technology to make humanity a multi-planetary species. As a CMM Inspector 2nd Shift, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the quality and precision of our mechanical parts and components.

Responsibilities
  • Perform precision inspections on mechanical parts, components, and assemblies to verify conformance to specifications and drawings.
  • Utilize advanced inspection equipment, including CMMs, micrometers, and optical comparators, to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Approve or reject items based on inspection results and document findings as required.
  • Communicate with internal customers and suppliers to resolve inspection discrepancies and ensure smooth production processes.
  • Perform surface plate inspections and use electronic ERP systems to route parts and components to the right departments.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum 1 year of precision mechanical inspection experience preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of CMM or Faro Arm experience required; PC-DMIS software experience a plus.
  • Aerospace precision inspection experience and ISO 9001/AS9100 certification a plus.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment with varying shift hours.
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status required due to ITAR regulations.
