Position Overview

This is a full-time position with rotating shifts at the UMMC-Downtown campus.

About the Surgical ICU

The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) is a specialized 24-bed unit dedicated to the care of adult patients undergoing various surgical procedures. Our unit supports a wide array of surgical services, including but not limited to:
  • Emergency surgeries
  • Transplant procedures
  • Thoracic surgeries
  • Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) surgeries
  • Orthopedic surgeries
  • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS)
  • Gynecological surgeries
  • Surgical Oncology
  • Vascular surgeries

Orientation and Training

Our orientation program is tailored to your individual skills and experience level, featuring:

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
  • A valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Maryland or eligibility through Compact state agreements
  • A minimum of 12 months of relevant clinical experience
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, including maintaining required education hours
  • Membership in a professional nursing organization
