Position Overview
This is a full-time position with rotating shifts at the UMMC-Downtown campus.
About the Surgical ICU
The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) is a specialized 24-bed unit dedicated to the care of adult patients undergoing various surgical procedures. Our unit supports a wide array of surgical services, including but not limited to:
- Emergency surgeries
- Transplant procedures
- Thoracic surgeries
- Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) surgeries
- Orthopedic surgeries
- Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS)
- Gynecological surgeries
- Surgical Oncology
- Vascular surgeries
Orientation and Training
Our orientation program is tailored to your individual skills and experience level, featuring:

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Maryland or eligibility through Compact state agreements
- A minimum of 12 months of relevant clinical experience
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, including maintaining required education hours
- Membership in a professional nursing organization
