Critical Care Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a Critical Care Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill patients in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Responsibilities- Provide direct care to critically ill patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and procedures as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
- Monitor and manage patients' vital signs, laboratory results, and other relevant data to ensure optimal care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
- At least 5 years of experience in adult ICU, with a focus on critical care nursing.
- Charge Nurse/Preceptor and Resource in cardiac diseases and cardiac procedures preferred.
- Familiarity with care and management of arterial line, central lines, and cardiac monitors preferred.
- Ability to identify and treat patients with cardiac conditions and provide nursing care to patients with heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, and sepsis preferred.
