The Maintenance & Custodian Technician Lead will perform building and grounds maintenance, as well as janitorial functions. Responsible for building and grounds functionality and cleanliness by leading a team of maintenance techs, planning seasonal projects, ordering supplies and performing other duties assigned by Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and schedule maintenance crew.
- Plan staff trainings as needed and to improve facility knowledge and efficiency.
- Plan and coordinate seasonal projects such as tennis court open/close, outdoor pool area open/close, seasonal deep clean, seasonal maintenance.
- Troubleshooting and Scheduled Maintenance on Gym Equipment.
- Order supplies and track inventory.
- Submit and track work orders.
- Ensure staffing and supplies budget are adhered to.
- Conduct facility safety audits.
- Attend annual trainings such as HAZWOPER.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA record keeping and standards.
- Submit weekly report to Manager.
- Attend weekly staff meeting.
- Check building systems, maintain pools and tubs.
- Check Cleanliness of building and clean as needed.
- Identify problems and solve, keeping equipment in working order.
- Empty towel drops, wash and dry towels, stock fresh towels.
- Work regularly scheduled maintenance shifts.
- High School education with post-secondary trade, vocational training and 3 years trade experience.
- Prior building and grounds maintenance and/or housekeeping experience is desirable.
- Must be comfortable performing work inside and outside the SHaRC in all weather conditions.
- Must be comfortable around pools.
- Must be comfortable with heavy lifting (up to 80lbs), physical labor, and exposure to pool chemicals (safety equipment provided).
- Must be able to have pleasant and helpful interactions with guests of the SHaRC when required.
- Must be comfortable working a flexible schedule including weekends, early mornings, late evenings, and some holidays.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
