We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Low Observable Materials Engineer to join our team at Raytheon in Tucson, AZ. As a key member of our Airframes, Radar Structures, & Advanced Materials team, you will be responsible for material and process development, characterization, and system-level integration in support of all Raytheon product lines and new business.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and characterize materials and processes to meet the needs of our customers and allies worldwide.
- Perform material measurements of constitutive and RF attenuation properties and generate predicted material performance using Computational Electromagnetic Codes (CEM) tools.
- Work in integrated product teams to incorporate advanced signature control techniques into deliverable products and aid in the assessment of system performance.
- Develop and implement material formulations and fabrication processes to meet the needs of our customers.
- Collaborate with customers and suppliers to ensure the successful integration of materials and processes into our products.
- Participate in and lead program reviews to ensure the successful execution of our projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related field.
- 10 years of experience in Low Observables or Radar materials engineering or 7 years with related experience and an advanced degree.
- Experience in material characterization, performance testing, and/or design.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
- Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or related field.
- Experience with high-temperature LO materials characterization, testing, and integration.
- Competence in utilizing thermal analysis techniques (DMA, TMA, TGA, DSC) properties.
- Agile communicator with effective interaction style that fosters collaboration with a multi-disciplined team, suppliers, and customers.
- Skilled at planning, prioritizing, and executing projects/programs to successful completions.
