Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Model Based Definition Engineer to join our team at Quest Global. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for creating 3D models and 2D layout drawings of aerospace sub-systems and engine controls products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineering staff to produce 3D models and 2D drawings that meet engineering and customer requirements.
  • Develop solid models and detailed drawings of components and assemblies, ensuring manufacturability and accuracy.
  • Work with engineering to create initial 2D concepts and 3D product models.
  • Manage Bill of Materials and create part definitions using MBD model-based definition practices.
  • Apply tolerance stack-up analysis results to ensure correct fit and alignment of complex assemblies.
  • Lead detailing drafters in the completion of component drawings for design projects.
  • Check drawings for accuracy, correct GD&T, and compliance to aerospace industry and customer standards.
  • Support product design reviews and coordinate work with project, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure proper filing, control, and export classification of created design data.
Requirements
  • Certification with experience or a Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or a related field.
  • 3-6 years of experience in drafting and using CAD software such as NX, CREO, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve complex design-related issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry standards, product lifecycle management tools, and design practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor entry-level and intermediate-level drafters and technicians.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
