A leading IT services company, Apex Systems, is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join their team in Middletown, RI. This 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity offers a Monday-to-Friday first shift schedule. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Job Overview

The Electrical Maintenance Technician will work within a multidisciplinary team of electrical and mechanical engineers and technicians to support the electrical maintenance, calibration, configuration, and testing of an advanced Naval Test Facility. The Propulsion Test Facility (PTF) specializes in the test and characterization of torpedo mechanical systems, including propulsion, combustion, and fluid pump and control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks on electrical measurement and control systems, including National Instruments-based data acquisition and control systems.
  • Work with thermal, pressure, and flow sensors, motorized valve and control systems, and PID control systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on electrical circuits, sensors, and measurement systems.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely completion of tasks and meet project deadlines.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3+ years of experience in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical/system schematics and assembly drawings, including switches, relays, sensors, power supplies, and industrial equipment.
  • Experience with AC and DC voltage troubleshooting, relays, and sensors.
  • Knowledge of electrical test and calibration equipment to inject and measure voltage, amperage, impedance, and verify continuity.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word to document work and read wire lists.

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $65,000-$85,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
