Position Summary
The Early Childhood Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the execution of FirstSpark's Mixed Delivery initiative, ensuring effective support and resources for early childhood providers including child care centers, family day homes, and preschool programs.
Key Responsibilities
The Coordinator will:
- Manage the implementation of the Mixed Delivery program, utilizing data and resources to enhance program quality and foster effective partnerships with participating organizations.
- Ensure that early childhood sites comply with program standards and facilitate the enrollment and verification process for eligible children and families.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor child enrollment, complete necessary evaluations, and ensure participation in relevant early childhood programs.
Program Management
Oversee the comprehensive execution of the Mixed Delivery program, collecting and analyzing data to achieve quality outcomes. Stay informed about current trends and disseminate relevant information to stakeholders. Collaborate with the Early Childhood Access Manager to manage program deliverables and develop policies that support compliance and implementation.
Policy Implementation
Interpret and enforce program policies that align with the goals of the Mixed Delivery initiative. Engage with regional and state partners to bolster program support and attend relevant meetings to advocate for early childhood education.
Communication
Effectively convey program information to educators and community groups. Lead meetings to discuss outcomes and share insights on early childhood initiatives. Prepare reports and develop documentation to support program operations.
Staff Support and Community Engagement
Work collaboratively with FirstSpark staff to enhance access strategies and provide technical assistance to participating sites. Analyze and share data trends to demonstrate the long-term impact of the program on quality and accessibility. Offer training on early childhood education practices and business models that support quality child care.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a child-related field (such as early childhood education or developmental psychology) and have at least one year of experience in an early care and education setting.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of early childhood best practices, familiarity with Virginia's educational standards, and proficiency in technology tools are highly desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively are essential.
