Job Title: HS English Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced HS English Teacher to join our team at District of Columbia International School.

Job Summary:

The HS English Teacher will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and support to students in grades 6-12, with a focus on IB English education. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching English language and literature, as well as experience with 1:1 technology integration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective English language and literature lessons to students in grades 6-12
  • Develop and implement curriculum using a deep understanding of the IB Language curriculum framework
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in secondary education or a related field
  • Experience teaching English language and literature in a secondary school setting
  • Strong understanding of the IB Language curriculum framework
  • Ability to integrate technology into instruction
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
