About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies to promote our mission and advance our goals
  • Lead the development of marketing materials, including social media content, website content, and print materials
  • Manage and maintain our website, including updating content and ensuring accuracy and relevance
  • Develop and implement social media strategies to engage our audience and promote our mission
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement outreach and engagement strategies to promote our mission and advance our goals
  • Represent The Ember Alliance at events and meetings, as needed
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or a related field
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective communications and marketing strategies
  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills, with the ability to adapt to different styles and formats
  • Experience managing social media platforms, including creating and scheduling content, engaging with followers, and analyzing metrics
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and communication
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a nonprofit or environmental organization
  • Knowledge of forest and fire ecology, and a passion for promoting fire-adapted ecosystems and communities
  • Experience using ArcGIS, including creating and managing StoryMaps
  • Graphic design skills, with the ability to create engaging and effective visual content
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences and formats
