Job Overview

Position: Mechanical Engineering Manager

Industry: Packaging Machinery / Industrial Equipment

Filamatic is in search of a Mechanical Engineering Manager to spearhead a dedicated team focused on designing innovative solutions that integrate multi-axis motion control systems, electromechanical systems, and pneumatic technologies for the production of liquid filling machinery. Our advanced packaging lines are designed to accommodate a wide range of products, ensuring efficiency and precision in the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee team dynamics, assess employee performance, and collaborate with senior management and HR to address performance-related concerns.
  • Facilitate regular one-on-one discussions to support ongoing professional growth for team members.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and core values within the team.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams, various departments, and clients from the initial concept to the final product delivery, focusing on the design of tailored multi-axis motion control systems and machinery.
  • Work in partnership with assembly and technical teams to identify and resolve challenges during the assembly phase.
  • Devise solutions to intricate challenges while adhering to project timelines.
  • Implement engineering standards for reusable design components and standard parts.
  • Engage with electrical engineering, sales, manufacturing, assembly, and technical support teams.
  • Lead design review sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Identify commercially available components for machinery.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues with both new and existing filling and capping machinery.
  • Deliver designs punctually and within budget, ensuring they meet client specifications.
  • Achieve departmental KPIs and budgetary goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related field) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's Degree with 10+ years of experience in Machine Design/Engineering.
  • Proven expertise in integrating multi-axis motion control systems, electromechanical systems, and pneumatic technologies into complex industrial machinery.
  • Experience in designing and overseeing the development of advanced automated industrial machinery.
  • Proficiency in 3D design software such as Solidworks or similar tools (Inventor, Creo, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to hold team members accountable for performance standards.
  • Experience in managing, developing, coaching, and mentoring mechanical engineering staff.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.
