Mental Health Associate

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Associate to join our team at the State of Connecticut. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to individuals with mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and train mental health assistants in the principles of client care, nursing care, and administration.
- Coordinate and facilitate activities for clients, including crisis intervention and monitoring.
- Assist clients in acquiring daily living skills, budgeting, and medication monitoring.
- Provide individual, group, and family supportive treatment under appropriate supervision.
- Three years of experience at the level of a Mental Health Assistant 2, LPN, or its equivalent in a psychiatric setting.
- College training in mental health technology, a behavioral science, social work, rehabilitation therapy, or its equivalent may be substituted for the General Experience.
- Experience working in outpatient settings and providing services within the community.
- Experience in written documentation and managing large volumes of paperwork.
- Experience with mental health and/or substance abuse.
Incumbents may be required to lift and restrain clients, may have significant exposure to communicable/infectious diseases, and may be exposed to strongly disagreeable conditions.
